Four Seeds Withdraw
The 48-player field for the third Flanders Darts Trophy was reshaped in the days after the draw was made. Littler, Humphries, Clayton and Anderson — all seeded in the top 16 and exempt to round two — have withdrawn, and their places have been taken by the first four names on the reserve list: Gabriel Clemens, James Hurrell, Kim Huybrechts and Brendan Dolan.
The withdrawal is a particular blow for the tournament’s status as a title defence. Littler won the 2025 Flanders Darts Trophy, beating Josh Rock 8-7 in the final, but will not return to Antwerp to defend the trophy this year.
Greaves Draws Heta
The standout first-round pairing sees Greaves face Damon Heta on Friday. Greaves has spent the past month making history on the European Tour, becoming the first woman to play a match on the circuit in Budapest and then the first to win one, beating Daryl Gurney 6-4 at the Czech Darts Open. Heta, Australia’s top-ranked player, presents her toughest test yet in round one.
The winner of that match moves into round two on Saturday to face Michael van Gerwen, one of the 16 seeds exempt from the opening round.
Prize Money and Format
The Flanders Darts Trophy carries a total prize fund of £230,000: £35,000 for the champion and £15,000 for the runner-up, down through £10,000 for each losing semi-finalist and £8,000 for each losing quarter-finalist. Rounds one to four are played over the best of 11 legs, the semi-finals over the best of 13 legs, and the final over the best of 15 legs.
What’s Next
