Smith made home advantage on darts’ growing European Tour circuit count for nothing, brushing aside Anderson’s run to the final with a comprehensive 8-2 win. He converted 8 of his 11 attempts at a double across the closing matches of the weekend, enough to see off a Scot who had come through a string of tight contests to reach the title match.
It capped a strong weekend for Smith in Budapest, who beat Danny Noppert 7-3 in the semi-final before turning that form into a one-sided final. The result lands Smith his second European Tour title of the year, adding to an increasingly consistent 2026 on the PDC circuit.
Record Crowd in Budapest
The MVM Dome hosted a record European Tour crowd of more than 6,000 for finals day, three days after Beau Greaves made history in round oneby becoming the first woman to play a PDC European Tour match, before falling 6-5 to Rob Cross. Smith and Anderson’s final closed out the tournament, with Smith taking home the £35,000 top prize and Anderson collecting £15,000 as runner-up.
