World Darts Championship 2026/27: General Ticket Ballot Now Open

The general public ballot for tickets to the 2026/27 World Darts Championship opened at 12:00 BST on Tuesday 8 September and runs until 23:59 BST on Monday 14 September— the first time tickets for darts’ biggest event have been allocated by ballot rather than a straightforward on-sale.

Two-Stage Ballot Process

The PDC split the ballot into two stages. PDCTV Annual Members received an exclusive priority window that ran from 12:00 BST on Tuesday 1 September to 23:59 BST on Monday 7 September, giving subscribers an increased opportunity to secure tickets before the wider public got their chance. The general ballot then opened immediately afterwards, at 12:00 BST on Tuesday 8 September, and is open to all fans until it closes at 23:59 BST on Monday 14 September.

Entering either ballot does not guarantee a ticket. Once the general ballot closes, the PDC says all applicants — successful or not — will be notified by email during September confirming the outcome of their application.

Why a Ballot This Time

It is the first time tickets for the World Championship have been allocated through a ballot system rather than a first-come, first-served sale. The change comes even though the tournament is moving into Alexandra Palace’s much larger Great Hall for 2026/27, which holds over 5,000 fans per session compared with the roughly 3,200-capacity main auditorium used in previous years — taking the total tickets available across the full run to a record 180,000. Despite that expanded capacity, the PDC has said demand is expected to exceed the tickets on offer, particularly for the more popular sessions over the Christmas and New Year period.

The Bigger Picture

The move into the Great Hall follows the PDC and Alexandra Palace agreeing in December 2025 to extend their partnership through to at least 2031. The 2026/27 tournament itself runs from Friday 11 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, with the usual break over Christmas. Frequently Asked Questions

When does the World Darts Championship 2026/27 general ticket ballot open and close?
The general ballot opened at 12:00 BST on Tuesday 8 September 2026 and closes at 23:59 BST on Monday 14 September 2026. It is open to all fans, not just PDCTV members.
Was there an earlier ballot window?
Yes. PDCTV Annual Members had an exclusive priority window that ran from 12:00 BST on Tuesday 1 September to 23:59 BST on Monday 7 September, giving them first access before the general public ballot opened.
Does entering the ballot guarantee tickets?
No. Entering either ballot does not guarantee a ticket. All applicants will be notified by email during September to confirm whether their application was successful, and demand is expected to exceed the record 180,000 tickets on offer.
Why is the PDC using a ballot for the first time?
Ticket demand for the World Championship at Alexandra Palace has consistently outstripped supply. Even with the venue's Great Hall move increasing capacity, the PDC opted for a ballot rather than a first-come, first-served sale to manage demand for the most popular sessions.
When and where is the 2026/27 World Darts Championship?
The tournament runs from Friday 11 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027 at Alexandra Palace, moving into the venue’s Great Hall for the first time.
